This is the time of year where it’s extremely tempting to just punt all responsibility to January. We’ve got holiday parties, Christmas shopping, end-of-year planning and more. Admittedly, there are definitely some tasks that I’m pausing for now and will “circle back” on in the New Year. However, this is a reminder (mostly to myself) to be intentional with the last couple of weeks of the year.
Be intentional about reviewing your 2024 goals and setting your 2025 goals. Don’t just make a list, but ask yourself where you fell short and what systems you can implement to increase your success moving forward. I’ve written a good bit about goals:
Be intentional about resting, relaxing, and enjoying time with loved ones. It’s easy to get overwhelmed or stressed out over holiday shopping or making plans to see family. Loosen up and enjoy the special moments together. Furthermore, regardless of your faith, take time to observe and appreciate what the holidays are actually for. As a Christian, I love the entire Advent & Christmas season. That doesn’t mean I don’t sometimes get wrapped up in the commercialism and hustle of the season, but I do have a great appreciation for its spiritual significance.
Finally, be intentional with gratitude and giving where you can. Whether that’s time, money, prayers, or some other sort of giving, I’d challenge you to make a point to help someone who is less fortunate than you this holiday season.
